Contents page analysis.

The word ‘Contents’ is clearly placed at the top of the page, the colour scheme being a good choice as well. Yellow against a black background is an easy way to catch the viewer’s eye. Not only that but the array of photo’s placed on the page also expands the viewer’s interest in this weeks magazine. For example, the main image is a close up of a singer from Chiodos. Which then leads onto to other pictures of singers/bands placed around the outside. Around them are the page numbers, and what those pages feature, which are clearly stated with black writing on a white background, and the main titles are yellow font on a black background, which also catches the readers eye.
As well as this, this may also represent the target audience of the magazine. For example, the images of the singers, but also the ideas of the styles. Not only this, but the font may also lead to an idea of the target audience.
i.e for those who are ‘emo
’.
The layout of the contents page is all-in-all quite neat and tidy. But also quite alive and active in a sense. The amount of images which are clumped together, not to mention the page numbers and subtitles are also crammed together in another sense. Which also gives the page the messy effect as well.
