This is an example, of the East Riding College magazine. The magazine's masthead is clearly stated at the top of the page, with the date next to it. Then also the cost of the magazine. 'Student Life' being the masthead, which is printed in a simple font, the size big enough to see, making it quite eye-catching. Below that is the main image, which is not a medium close up. But also big enough to notice, showing a subtitle near the top corner of the image, stating that there is in fact an article on the inside of the magazine which explains the image. The image also having a white border at the top and the bottom of it, making it stand out against the black background. Making it more eye catching.
Near the bottom of the magazine it shows the 'East Riding College' logo nice and bold against the black. The colour of the font also making it recognisable. Then to the other corner of the magazine, it shows a list of subjects that will feature in the magazine. In a smaller font compared to the rest of the page. In a sense the black and white makes the front cover look slightly boring, and basic. Which may not actually make readers want to look at the magazine, due to the lack of excitement.
